2025 SCHOOL TRUSTEE BY-ELECTION

NOTICE OF ELECTION BY VOTING


PUBLIC NOTICE is given to the electors of School District No. 27 (Cariboo-Chilcotin) that the by-election 

 General Voting Day is Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm at 150 Mile Elementary School, 3081 Hwy. 97, 150 Mile House, BC.

 Advance/Special voting opportunities will be held on various dates throughout the district as indicated below:

School District 27 Trustee Candidates (1 to be selected) for Area 4, Cariboo Regional District Area F, and part of D that lies within the boundaries of School District No. 27: 

  • COATES, Melissa   
  • IKOMA, Connor
  • MATOGA, Neal


Qualifications to Vote:

To vote, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Canadian citizen;
  • 18 years of age or older on voting day (June 7, 2025);
  • A resident within the geographical boundaries of Area 4, Cariboo Regional District Area F, and
  • part of D that lies within the boundaries of School District #27 for at least 6 months immediately before;
  • Not otherwise disqualified by law from voting.


 Resident electors, at the time of voting, have 2 options to prove their identity and residential address before voting:  

Option 1:  Show one of these pieces of ID:

  • BC Driver's License  
  • BC Identification Card (BCID)
  • BC Services Card (with photo) 
  • Certificate of Indian Status
  • Another card issued by the government of BC or Canada that shows your name, photo and address


Option 2: Show any two pieces of ID or documents that both show your name.  At least one must have your current address (such as the following): (see Elections BC for a full list)

  • BC CareCard                                               
  •  Social Insurance Card
  • BC Identification Card (without photo)          
  • Birth Certificate
  • Canadian Forces Photo Identification card    
  • Citizenship certificate
  • Passport                                                     
  • Property Tax Assessment
