Kindergarten Registration

2023 - 2024

Children must be five years of age by December 31, 2023. Children presently enrolled in Kindergarten do not need to re-register for Grade One.

A birth certificate (or other proof of age) and presentation of the BC “Care Card” is required at registration. Students will normally register at the school in their catchment area. Parents not sure of their catchment area are requested to contact the nearest Elementary School, the School District Office or the Online School Locator.

French Immersion Schools – Nesika Elementary School & 100 Mile Elementary School:

New students wishing to register for French Immersion must complete a “School of Choice” application IF the French Immersion School is not their regular catchment area school.

Registration Information Specific for 100 Mile House and Region

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION – Begins January 23, 2023.

Children must be five years of age by December 31, 2023.  Children presently enrolled in Kindergarten do not need to re-register for Grade One.

A Birth Certificate or Passport and the BC “Care Card” are required at registration. Two pieces of proof of physical address required i.e. mortgage statement, rental agreement, hydro bill.

Students will normally register at the school in their attendance area.  Parents not sure of their attendance area are requested to contact the nearest elementary school, the School District Office (250-398-3811), or the Online School Locator (please see the link below).

Registration for French Immersion Kindergarten at 100 Mile Elementary School will be held at this time.  Students not living in the 100 Mile Elementary School catchment area are required to register at their catchment area school and submit a “School of Choice” application.

SCHOOL OF CHOICE – Deadline is March 8, 2023.

If you wish your child to attend a school that is not your catchment school, a “School of Choice” application MUST be completed.  Applications are available from your local school, the School District office, or on the School of Choice link (please see the link below).

Registration Information Specific for Williams Lake and Region

Graduation Routes Other Ways (GROW) offers an online kindergarten program that parents can choose from.  This is a Teacher led and parent supported program where, under teacher direction, the parent works with their child to support learning.  For further information on Online learning please see the Ministry of Education's website.
