The Cariboo‑Chilcotin School District is pleased to introduce a new Super Attendance Recognition Program that celebrates student effort and recognizes the important role families play in supporting regular school attendance.
Being present at school supports learning, well‑being, and a sense of belonging. Each day at school helps students build relationships, strengthen routines, and fully participate in the experiences that help them grow and succeed. Because of this, attendance is a key focus area for the District.
Recognizing Effort, Progress, and Commitment
The Attendance Recognition Program is designed to celebrate students in meaningful and encouraging ways. Each month, students will be recognized if they meet one or more of the following criteria during the previous month:
- 90% or greater attendance for the month
- 10% or greater improvement in attendance compared to the previous month
- 90% or greater attendance year to date
Students who meet any of these milestones will receive a certificate of recognition acknowledging their effort and commitment to being present at school.
Monthly and Year‑End Draws
From all students eligible in each of the three categories, one student name will be drawn each month for a family focused gift as an added way to celebrate and say thank you. For the month of February, the prizes were $100 grocery certificates.
In addition, all students who are eligible for a monthly draw are automatically entered into a grand year‑end draw, providing another opportunity for families to be recognized and celebrated.
A Shared Responsibility
Regular school attendance is built through strong relationships and daily support from families. The District recognizes the care and commitment it takes to establish routines and encourage students to come to school each day. This program is not about perfection. It is about recognizing effort, growth, and partnership.
By celebrating attendance, the District hopes to continue strengthening connections between students, families, and schools, while encouraging positive habits that support learning and well‑being.
Families with questions about the Super Attendance Recognition Program are encouraged to contact their school for more information.
