Nestled in the breathtaking Nemiah Valley, in the foothills of the Chilcotin Mountains, Naghtaneqed School offers a truly unique teaching and learning experience. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, pristine lakes, and endless opportunities for outdoor adventure, our school is an ideal setting for educators who value nature, community, and meaningful connections with students.

Our small, close-knit school serves just 25 students and operates on a four-day week, allowing for a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle. At Naghtaneqed, learning extends far beyond the classroom. Each week, students take part in enriching, land-based experiences that reflect the deep cultural traditions of the community. Our Chilcotin Language and Culture program immerses students in traditional knowledge through storytelling, language, and hands-on learning on the land.

Teachers at our school benefit from small class sizes, allowing for personalized, inquiry-based instruction where every student is known, supported, and encouraged to thrive. We foster a collaborative and supportive staff environment, with opportunities for professional growth, mentorship, and meaningful teamwork.

Living and working in the Nemiah Valley offers more than just a teaching position—it’s a lifestyle. From hiking, fishing, and wildlife viewing to experiencing the rich culture and traditions of the Xeni Gwet’in community, educators here become part of something truly special.
