100 Mile Elementary
Mrs. Simcox’s class has been out exploring with a Sensory Scavenger Hunt — and it’s so much more than just a walk outside. 🍃🐾
By slowing down and noticing what we can see, hear, feel, and smell, students strengthen focus, regulation, and observation skills. These outdoor sensory moments help calm busy nervous systems, build vocabulary, and spark curiosity — all essential foundations for strong learning.
Through place-based learning, our Wolf Pack connects deeply with the land around our school. When students notice the crunch of frost under boots, the scent of pine in the air, or the sound of ravens overhead, they’re building a relationship with this place — learning from the land, not just about it.
Belonging grows when we feel connected to where we are. 🌲
