National Indigenous People's Day

On June 19, Cataline students participated in a day of celebration and learning. During national Indigenous People’s Day (NIPD), seven Cataline Elementary classes participated in the local NIPD celebrations around Williams Lake. Classes cheered, celebrated, and observed the parade and then made their way to Boitanio Park where students listened to stories and songs, danced, and engaged in the hands-on activities offered. Students enjoyed celebrating with friends and community.

The remaining Cataline students, celebrated NIPD in various ways, from crafts, drumming outside, baking Bannock, and listening to on-line, live Indigenous authors sharing and reading their stories.
