Tatla Lake Elementary/Junior
Our students at Tatla Lake Elementary/Jr. Secondary had a wonderful opportunity to learn together through a hands-on science workshop with Martin Kruus from Scout Island.
During the session, students explored animal adaptations, developing a deeper understanding of how animals survive and thrive in their environments. Through a hands-on matching activity, students worked in partners to examine different animal skulls and match them to photos of the animals they belonged to. This activity encouraged collaboration, observation, and critical thinking as students discussed clues such as teeth shape, jaw structure, and skull size to make their predictions.
We are grateful to Martin Kruus from Scout Island for sharing his expertise and helping bring science learning to life for our students. Opportunities like this demonstrate how community partnerships and shared responsibility for learning help create engaging and memorable educational experiences.
