Marie Sharpe Elementary
Here is CCSD27, we are incredibly grateful for community partners like Scout Island Nature Centre and Gavin Lake Forest Education Centre, who help bring learning to life for our students in meaningful and unforgettable ways.
Whether our students are exploring wetlands and wildlife at Scout Island, or participating in immersive outdoor education experiences at Gavin Lake, these opportunities help students connect learning to the world around them. They encourage curiosity, teamwork, environmental stewardship, resilience, and a deeper appreciation for the land we live on.
These experiences are a wonderful example of Collective Responsibility in action. Student success is strengthened when schools, families, and community organizations work together to create engaging and authentic learning opportunities. Both Scout Island and Gavin Lake provide spaces where students can build confidence, strengthen relationships, and learn beyond the walls of a classroom.
We are so thankful for the staff, volunteers, and educators who make these experiences possible for students across SD27. Your passion and dedication help create learning that students remember for years to come.
