Big Lake Elementary
The primary teacher from Big Lake Elementary recently joined colleagues from the Cariboo-Chilcotin School District at the BC Primary Teachers' Conference in Burnaby for a valuable professional learning opportunity focused on literacy. The session featured renowned literacy educator Adrienne Gear - whose expertise and practical strategies continue to inspire educators to deepen student engagement with reading, writing, and critical thinking.
Throughout the learning, participants explored effective literacy practices, shared experiences, and reflected on ways to strengthen classroom instruction. Opportunities such as this support our ongoing commitment to improving student learning and ensuring that evidence-based literacy strategies are implemented across our schools.
We are grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside fellow educators and bring new ideas back to our classrooms at Big Lake Elementary to support student success.
