Staff from around the school district and community partners were invited to engage in a live learning experience with a facilitator from MNP that focused on resilience, with an emphasis on understanding how trauma impacts children and their school experience. The training provided proactive strategies such as fostering connections, prioritizing social and emotional skills, establishing safety, and promoting play. The workshop also covered detailed information and concrete actions, not only addressing the "why" but also the "how" of creating the best classroom and school supports for students and professionals. There was a strong focus on understanding the link between a student's private logic and their academic achievement and behaviour using the Circle of Courage* model: belonging, mastery, independence, and generosity. A special thank you to the participants who sang and drummed during the workshop, your contributions were beautiful.
