Marie Sharpe Elementary
Today, Marie Sharpe had the pleasure of welcoming Willie Hardeman to our school to work with six of our eight classes! Students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 had the opportunity to practice their basketball skills while learning some important lessons that go far beyond the court.
Willie has quite the basketball background! Originally from Oakland, California, he played basketball at a high level before joining the Harlem Crowns, a travelling basketball team that uses the sport to spread positive messages to young people. Since making Williams Lake his home, Willie has dedicated countless hours to coaching, mentoring, and inspiring youth throughout our community.
Throughout his time with our students, Willie emphasized the importance of hard work, perseverance, making good choices, and being a good person. His message was a wonderful reminder that success isn't just about how well you play a sport, but also about the effort you put in and the way you treat others.
A huge thank you to Willie for sharing his time, skills, and wisdom with our Sharks! We are so fortunate to have community members who are willing to share their experiences and make a positive difference in the lives of our students!
