Heavy Metal Rocks is a unique and highly valued program that provides students with hands-on opportunities to explore the wide range of rewarding careers available as heavy‑duty equipment operators within the construction, natural resources, and logging industries. Under the guidance and mentorship of experienced equipment operators, students learn the fundamentals of safe operation and gain experience with a variety of heavy‑duty machines in a controlled training environment.

In addition to practical equipment experience, students receive essential industry‑recognized safety training, including:

  • WorkSafeBC – New Worker/Young Worker Training
  • First Aid Level 1 Certification
  • WHMIS Basic Certification

The programs are taking place in both the North and South end of the School District.

  • April 22-24 in Williams Lake
  • May 7-8 in 100 Mile
