Educators and support staff gathered to learn how to make Secwépemc Ponderosa pine needle baskets. Elder Sally Wynja introduced a group of 15 participants to the art of basketry. Using contemporary materials such as colourful sinew, each basket became as unique as its creator. The ultimate test of skill was simple: could the basket hold water?
