Chilcotin Road Elementary
As part of Orange Shirt Week, Mrs. Harrison's class spent time reading You Hold Me Up by Monique Gray Smith. Through this powerful story, students explored the importance of kindness, caring, and supporting one another in our daily lives.
The book encouraged meaningful conversations about how our words and actions can help others feel valued, respected, and included. By connecting with the story and sharing their own experiences, students made personal connections to the message that we all have a role in lifting each other up and building a strong community.
Stories are powerful tools for learning and reflection, helping students develop empathy and a deeper understanding of one another. Mrs. Harrison's class demonstrated that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference and help create a caring and supportive school for everyone.
