We had our Cariboo Chilcotin School District Superintendent Cheryl Lenardon in as the final Local Celebrity of Literacy Week 2026! She read to Mrs. Fichtner's class today! She selected "The Most Beautiful Winter" by Cristina Sitja Rubio, a story about animals in the winter time. She picked it because she enjoys watching the students playing through her office window at the board office. She went out and made a special book purchase, had a hard time choosing the perfect book, and left the book for the class to enjoy! Mr. Parkin's class spent the day at Scout Island today learning about "Cold Stress!" Marcus gifted Mrs. McKinnon an pinecone from the sky, and Keelan and Sivkan read today's books for the Book Battle! Such a fun day!

This little book with only pictures and no words made it all the way to the top spot in the Book Battle Bracket this week. Thank you so much to Mrs. Fichtner for organizing this whole battle and making sure everyone got the books when they needed to! What a fun activity for Literacy Week!!!!
