Horse Lake Grade 3 Students Hit The 99 Mile Ski Trails

Twenty-five grade three students from Horse Lake recently participated in the 100 Mile Nordics' Ski S'Kool at the 99 Mile Ski Trails. Tracks were fast as students cross-country skied, many for the first time, under the direction of volunteers from the Nordics. Students learned ski techniques like snow-plowing and herring-bone climbing as they maneuvered through the beginner trails. It was an excellent introduction to a sport few had experienced previously, made possible by local volunteers partnering with our school.
