Horse Lake Elementary

On Wednesday, October 21, students from Ms. Hopson’s Kindergarten/Grade 1 class and Ms. Dickson’s Grade 2 class enjoyed a day of outdoor, place-based learning at Horsting's Farm near Cache Creek.

Throughout the day, students explored the farm while building teamwork and problem-solving skills as they worked together to navigate the corn maze. They also learned about the importance of the fall harvest and had the opportunity to select their very own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.

A special thank you goes out to our wonderful parent volunteers who helped make this learning experience possible. We are especially grateful to one volunteer who generously transported all of the pumpkins back to school for both classes.

Experiences like this help students make meaningful connections between classroom learning and the world around them, creating lasting memories while fostering curiosity, collaboration, and an appreciation for local agriculture.
