Tatla Lake Elementary/Junior
The partnership between CCSD27 and Gavin Lake Forestry Education Centre continues to provide meaningful and memorable learning experiences for our students each year. Through hands-on outdoor education opportunities, students build skills, confidence, and connections while learning together in a supportive environment.
During their time at Gavin Lake, students explore topics such as archery, forest ecosystems, outdoor survival, and environmental stewardship. These engaging activities encourage curiosity, teamwork, and experiential learning beyond the classroom walls.
Equally important are the lessons in social responsibility that are woven throughout the camp experience. Students practice cooperation, leadership, inclusion, problem-solving, and respect for one another while participating in group activities and shared responsibilities. Living and learning together helps students strengthen relationships, develop empathy, and contribute positively to their community.
This ongoing partnership reflects CCSD27’s commitment to collective responsibility by creating opportunities where students, educators, and community partners work together to support the growth and success of every learner. We are grateful for the continued collaboration with Gavin Lake and the lasting impact these experiences have on our students.
