Cataline Elementary

On April 22, 2026, Cataline Elementary School celebrated Earth Day with an open invitation to families and community members. Cataline parents and caregivers were invited to share an afternoon with their children connecting literacy and environmental stewardship with our Earth & Literacy Day Event.

Families were greeted with healthy snacks, literacy activities related to Earth Day, and books which they were encouraged to share with their children who were eagerly waiting for them stationed outside around the school. Students and their families braved the wind, but enjoyed the warmth of the sun, as they shared time together reading books or learning about Earth Day. This quiet time spent outside was an opportunity to bring students and families together, fostering school community and culture, while connecting literacy and learning beyond the classroom.

The afternoon was concluded with a school ground and community clean up. Students and families canvased the school grounds and surrounding areas picking up garbage to support the city’s 2026 Earth Day campaign.
