Tatla Lake Elementary/Junior
Our students had the opportunity to learn with facilitators from Nenqayni Wellness Society through a meaningful hands-on activity focused on intention, commitment, and personal growth.
Students created commitment sticks, a traditional-inspired tool that serves as a tangible reminder of the goals, intentions, or commitments they make to themselves, their families, their learning, or their community. As they crafted their sticks, students reflected on what is important to them and identified commitments they would like to honour moving forward. The activity encouraged self-awareness, responsibility, and personal accountability while providing an opportunity to connect with Indigenous teachings and ways of knowing.
We are grateful to Nenqayni Wellness Society for sharing their knowledge and creating meaningful learning experiences that support the social, emotional, and cultural growth of our students.
