Big Lake Elementary
For Remembrance Day, Big Lake students created artwork featuring their hands holding a poppy alongside the message “Peace is in Our Hands.” This project invited them to contribute to a shared display that honors all who served, including Indigenous veterans whose sacrifices are an important part of our history. By weaving their individual efforts into a collective expression of respect and hope, students reflected on the diverse contributions that have shaped our freedoms.
Each student’s unique design represented personal responsibility and choice, reinforcing the idea that peace begins with individual action. Together, these pieces formed a powerful reminder that unity, gratitude, and personal commitment can shape a more peaceful future.
