As Grade 12 students focus on completing their academic requirements and preparing for graduation in the Cariboo Chilcotin School District, a group of students has also been recognized for their achievements through Thompson Rivers University (TRU).
On May 31, TRU held its Commencement Ceremony, where 24 students were eligible to cross the stage in recognition of having completed—or being in the process of completing—their certification programs. These students participated through dual credit opportunities at TRU Williams Lake and TRU Kamloops.
Students from the Cariboo-Chilcotin School District have been enrolled in the following dual credit programs:
- Automotive Service Technician Foundation
- Electrical Foundation
- Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Foundation
- Horticulture
- Regenerative Agriculture
- Residential Construction Foundation
- Welding Foundation
This accomplishment highlights the strong partnership between SD27 and TRU, offering students valuable pathways to post-secondary education and skilled trades certification.
