Compassionate Leadership

As principal, I attended the annual  BC Principals' & Vice-Principals' Association (BCPVPA) Leadership Conference. On Saturday morning, writer, researcher, and community advocate for Indigenous youth wellness and leadership, Dr. Sean Lessard, reflected on the importance of presence and trust when working with youth, as well as the role educators and leaders play as advocates and allies. Dr. Lessard’s presentation was incredibly heartwarming, resonated with everyone, and helped us better understand compassionate leadership in education. I felt privileged to hear him speak.
