Bricks and Mortar - Literacy

On our September 21st Pro-D Day, our Learning Support Teacher, Julie Knevel put on a ‘Bricks and Mortar—Filling Literacy Gaps’ workshop for our staff. This course, linked to our school plan, was attended by most classroom teachers and will help them better understand the difficulties that some of our students have with reading and the materials will give them the tools they need to remediate. Julie will continue to work with our grade 3-6 classroom teachers in the classroom settings and make some solid plans on to how to implement systematic literacy supports in their classrooms.
