Our School

Welcome to Peter Skene Ogden Secondary School. Our school is a Grade 8 to 12 facility enrolling approximately 500 students. PSO has a wide variety of learning supports embedded in its structure to help meet the educational needs of its students.

Providing Students opportunities

We offer program delivery through regular classroom instruction in our semesterized timetable, our independent directed studies: First Nations Tutorial program, through our IDEA electronic and self-paced delivery support program, or within the bounds of our Learning and Behavioral Support Alternate Program or Learning and Lifestyle Support off campus Storefront Program. Students may choose single or multiple program offerings concurrently or in isolation in order to meet their personal and educational needs.

Post Secondary Programs

We are actively involved in the District's Secondary School Apprenticeship (SSA) and Career Technical Centre Programs (CTC) hosted at the TRU campus in Williams Lake. Our SSA Program offers all Students age 15 and older the opportunity for a "head start" on apprenticeship training and ability to earn secondary school credits towards graduation, while the CTC Program offers students in grades 11 and 12 the opportunity to earn concurrent credit in both post secondary programs as well as secondary school graduation credit.

Leadership

PSO has a most active and progressive student Leadership Program that continuously introduces our students and community to student led innovative activities that support our school's Social Responsibility goals. This year has also brought with it the introduction of a whole new series of literacy-based initiatives and instruction to better help support our students in their learning. The staff has again taken a leadership role in giving of themselves to make instruction and student learning our most important focus. It is our goal and wish to ensure we have positive and lasting relationships with our students and community. Together we can learn, support and make a good school and educational experience even better.
