There are seven trustees on the Board of Education of School District No. 27 (Cariboo-Chilcotin). They are elected every three years by the residents of the Cariboo-Chilcotin. The provincial School Act defines the powers and duties of boards of education. The provincial Ministry or Education has responsibility for public education, and it sets the basic curriculum and provides the school district’s funding.
